Nice resident Clement Sordet led the Nice tributes at The Open, wearing a black ribbon and writing “Pray For Nice” on the peak of hit hat.
The Frenchman was honouring over 80 victims who were killed when a truck smashed into a crowd in the French resort as they watched a Bastille Day fireworks display on Thursday night.
Sordet said at the end of his round: “My thoughts are with the families and the victims. I woke up at 4am and tried to find out what had been going on, mainly on the radio. The attack happened less than 500m from where I live. My girlfriend’s family come from there.”
