Purdis Heath Golf Club, Suffolk, was the recent host of a 66 Pro Tour event, where Australian Daniel Gaunt won his second event of the series, matching the course record of 66, to finish ahead of Francis McGuirk and Lawrence Dodd.

The heathland golf course at Ipswich included established players such as local star Jamie Moul and former European number one Ronan Rafferty.

The 66 Pro Tour features top professionals competing in a series of one-day format events, ending with the Grand Final event in October at Walton Heath Golf Club, with a £10,000 first prize.

The 66 Pro Tour was launched last year and is open to professional golfers from the UK and overseas. It is establishing itself as an exciting addition to the domestic tournament golf calendar, with the next series event being held at the exclusive Remedy Oak on June 1.
