Fynn Valley boys Jack & Chris tie for 1st place
Two boys from Fynn Valley Golf Club tied for 1st place in the July Stonham Barns Junior Tournament
On a hot humid day both Jack Phillips and Christopher Head, both 11 yrs olds, scored great scores of 33 (4 over par). Unfortunately they had to be separated to see who would win the Under 12 Trophy and Jack was the winner having had a score of 21 for his last 6 holes. In 3rd place, just one shot behind, was Joshua Robertson, a 12 year old member of Ufford Park.
The winner of the Under 10 category was James Cook, a 9 year old from Thorpness, who scored 40 for the 9 holes. In 2nd in this category was Oliver Robertson, brother of Joshua, who scored 42. Finally the Under 8 category was won by Dylan Beadsworth, a 7 year old from Felixstowe Golf Club, with a great score of 42.
The prizes were sponsored by the Golf Direct Store at Stonham Barns and presented by Tony Dobson who said "it was great to have the support of all the juniors with these events and many thanks to their parents for their time and effort in bringing them. Well done to all of the juniors that played in the very hot conditions."
The next event at Stonham Barns will be the August Stonham Barns Junior Tournament which will be held on Sunday 24th August 2008. This event is played over 9 holes and players can come and play anytime between 10am and 1pm. No booking is required.
