Phil Mickelson has declared that he will be unable to join the European Tour's Race to Dubai this season due to a busy schedule.
Mickelson, 38, finished in a tie for eighth at last week’s HSBC Champions in Shanghai but a busy 2009 will not allow the American to commit to the European Tour just yet.
"It would be an honour for me to be part of it. It just didn't work out for me this year," the American revealed.
"I do believe that it's very possible that, in the near future, it will be in my plans."
The three-time Major winner lost his world number two spot to Sergio Garcia following the Spaniard’s victory in Shanghai.
But far from being concerned Mickelson has spoken of his desire to see world number one Tiger Woods back from his injury next season.
"The reason why we all want Tiger back is because he drives the game of golf," Mickelson stated.

"He drives television ratings, the sponsors need him in their events and the fans turn out to see him, so we need him back as soon as possible.”
Mickelson will compete in the Singapore Open on Thursday, which includes Padraig Harrington, Ernie Els, Adam Scott and KJ Choi.
