Rory McIlroy hoping for a return to winning ways at WGC-CA Championship
The Northern Irish teenager returns to Florida this weekend hoping for a second victory at Doral
Rory McIlroy plays his third professional US tournament in as many weeks this weekend as he heads to Doral in Florida for the World Golf Championship - CA and the 19-year-old is looking to continue his recent good form.
His chances are also aided by the fact that he is familiar with the course, having won the Doral Junior Publix tournament aged just 9; a decade ago.
McIlroy made his professional American debut at the WGC - Accenture Match Play notching up a quarter-final place, before losing to eventual winner Geoff Ogilvy.
He then followed this impressive performance with a 13th place tie finish at last weekend's Honda Classic, only narrowly missing out on a top ten place due to a final round bogey-bogey.
"I'm hoping to do a little better next week," McIlroy said. "I can't wait. I've played a lot of junior golf at Doral so it will be nice to get back to a place that I'm familiar with."
