Callaway has announed the launch of its Odyssey ProType PT 82 putter, a special blade built to the exact specifications used by Callaway staff professional Phil Mickelson to win his third US Masters title at Augusta in April.
The limited edition blade PT 82 is made from soft 1025 carbon steel and features Odyssey's White Ice insert with a tungsten weight behind it. The vintage finish and single white sightline that stretches down the back flange are looks requested by Mickelson himself.
"I'm very excited that the designers at Odyssey have produced this putter with the same design as my gamer," Mickelson said.
Odyssey engineers have deepened the insert pocket and a piece of tungsten was used to achieve the required 320-gram head weight.
Since 2000, Odyssey has been the number one putter across the world's major professional tours in wins, usage and top-10 finishes. Throughout 2010, Odyssey putters have claimed 53 tour victories worldwide - including Mickelson's Masters win and the US Open triumph at Pebble Beach for Golf Monthly columnist, Graeme McDowell.
