A long-distance love affair began when reading Peter Alliss eulogising about his round of golf at the Rose Garden. Several decades later I had the chance to follow in the great man's footsteps.
At the very heart of mainland South East Asia, welcome to a country of contrasts: tropical or cool depending on the region and time of year; remote hill country with beautiful scenery or vibrant, modern living in cities with ultra-dense populations (110 people per sq km). And of course, there are the beaches. Wherever you are, the welcome is always warm, and the golfing opportunities are abundant - day or night, in the serene mountainous settings of Chiang Mai or at the heart of bustling Bangkok.
