We round up what those dreaming of a Maior victory on Sunday said to the press at the close of a long third day at Oakmont

None of the top six on the Oakmont leaderboard have won a Major before. So we round up what those dreaming of a Maior victory said after day 3 at Oakmont:

I’m glad we didn’t have to play another four holes as I was getting tired but I’m really looking forward to getting out there on Sunday. I’ve never been in this position but this is where you want to be. My game is good and I feel very comfortable out there. Shane Lowry

I’m giving myself opportunities. I feel like I’m hitting my putts on my line with correct speed. At some point, they will start to go in. I’ve been in the position before, I know what to expect. I know how to handle it. So hopefully, the ball falls my way tomorrow. Dustin Johnson

No nerves, very comfortable. I feel like I played good golf on hard golf courses where par is a good score. That’s just kind of my game. It’s always been my game. It’s kind of like Q school. It’s the same thing with Q school. It’s such a hard, long six rounds of golf. You just have to stay really patient and try not to make a lot of mistakes. Andrew Landry

We all know that this course can jump up and bite you in a split second. So yeah, I’m ahead with 22 holes left. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. These are the best golfers in the world behind me, Dustin and Jason. Sergio played lovely today. I have to go out and do what I’ve been doing all week. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow. Shane Lowry

It may be physically and mentally a little bit tougher on those guys that have to come back and finish in the morning. They’re going to be waking up around 5 to play the rest of their holes. It may be physically and mentally a little bit tougher. Jason ‘Day.
