Cobra has announced the launch of two new tour-inspired iron models for 2015 - Fly-Z PRO and Fly-Z+ Forged

Cobra has announced the launch of two new tour-inspired iron models for 2015 - Fly-Z PRO and Fly-Z+ Forged.

These better-player irons follow on from the beginner and game-improver Fly-Z and Fly-Z XL irons introduced at the end of last year.

The Fly-Z+ Forged and Fly-Z PRO irons are designed to provide more feel, workability and accuracy for better players.

Indeed, Cobra's R&D team worked with the brand's body of Tour ambassadors to develop the two new iron franchises.

Fly-Z PRO Irons

The Fly-Z Pro irons undergo a five-stage forging process to deliver a soft yet solid feel at impact.

The centre of gravity is positioned directly behind the impact zone, allowing more proficient golfers increased precision and control on middled strikes.

CNC milled faces, meanwhile, are utilised to impart maximum spin and trajectory control.

Cobra Fly-Z PRO irons

As with most better-player designs, Fly-Z PRO irons have compact head shapes, thin toplines, thin sole widths and minimal offset.

"Our research and development team has worked with Cobra Tour players to understand their needs and used their feedback to develop the Fly-Z PRO irons," said Cobra Golf Director of Product Marketing, Jose Miraflor.

"The result is a set of irons that provide tour trajectories and superior feel and precision for better players."

The set morphs from dual-cavity long (3-6) to single-cavity mid (7-8) and muscle-back short irons (9-PW).

Fly-Z PRO irons come with the Golf Pride New Decade multi Compund Cord grip and a True Temper Dynamic Golf S300 shaft.

The eight-piece set - also available in 2-PW, GW, right-handed and left-handed - has an RRP of £749.

Fly-Z+ Forged Irons

Fly-Z+ Forged irons feature a six-step forging process to deliver even softer feel.

Tungsten inserts positioned in the heel and toe of the 3-7 irons aid consistency and accuracy, while weight-saving vibration-dampening TPU inserts facilitate a soft feel.

What's more, CNC milled undercutting from 3-8 iron removes weight for improved forgiveness.

The eight-piece set - which come with KBS Tour Shafts and Lamkin 3GEN Crossline grips - has a recommended retail price of £699.

Cobra Fly-Z+ irons

Both the Fly-Z+ Forged and the Fly-Z PRO irons are available to purchase from March 1, 2015.

Fly-Z woods and Fly-Z fairways and hybrids round-out the brand's Fly-Z family of clubs.
