The new TaylorMade M1 driver has been revealed, with the major update from the TaylorMade R15 driver it replaces being a revolutionary T-Track system that lets you adjust your centre of gravity position as well as your draw-fade bias.
A distinctive carbon composite crown design has resulted in a decrease in overall club weight, which in turn allowed for the new T-Track system.
Very similar to the R15’s Front Track System, the TaylorMade M1 driver has a 15g movable weight that enables draw or fade bias so you can reduce your unwanted slice or hook.
New for the M1 though is a back track, where a 10g weight slides from front to back, allowing up to 300rpm of backspin and 0.8 degree in launch angle adjustment.
This means you will be able to simultaneously adjust your fade or draw while choosing your spin and forgiveness, making the M1 TaylorMade’s most customisable driver to date.
Thanks to a low centre of gravity, ideal launch conditions aren’t affected, meaning low spin, high launch and increased ball speed will occur more often.
The aesthetics, shaped heavily by the carbon composite crown, were designed to provide not only a confidence-inspiring alignment aid at address, but a visually attractive club with which to hit off the tee.
The adjustable loft sleeve also returns, giving you 12 positions and up to four degrees of loft adjustment.
TaylorMade M1 driver specifications
The TaylorMade M1 driver will come with three shaft offerings; a low-flighted Aldila Rogue 70 110 MSI, a mid-flight Kuro Kage Silver TiNi 60 and a mid/high-flighted Fujikura Pro 60. TaylorMade will also offer an additional 25 premium custom shaft options at no extra charge.
The TaylorMade M1 driver will come in a 460cc version in 8.5°, 9.5°, 10.5° and 12° lofts (with left handed models in 9.5° and 10.5°) and in a 430cc version in 8.5°, 9.5° and 10.5° loft options, both available in one of the three premium stock shafts mentioned above.
Both versions of the TaylorMade M1 driver will be available to buy on October 8th at £429.
